The Witch of Duva by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
You know when you were really little. So little you were practically a story-virgin? When you hadn't heard the tropes and cliches - hadn't yet understood and felt the rhythm of a story.
Every story was amazing then. Every ending, every newly pieced together tale was awe-inspiring. You had standards, don't get me wrong, but they were smaller and less experienced and refined.
That's what this book made me feel.

Now, I cannot guarantee it will effect any of you in the same way, but if you love the dark, come let Bardugo tell you a tale. She weaves it beautifully.
You can find it here for free, a sample of a larger collection of short stories.
Happy reading
