Review: Dollhouse

Dollhouse by Anya Allyn
Series: The Dark Carousel #1
Rating: ★★★½

Good book, good premise, good characters, original plot with eerie twists. I really liked this book, and the main character. Some genuinely creepy moments happen, and claustrophobia and a hopeless atmosphere are constant themes. I love that the plot keeps moving forward. It doesn't linger over unnecessary plot points or twists to kill time. You're constantly pulled through the story with Cassie.

This can also lead to struggles to connect with other characters, or see them fully, but that's not really the point of this story. You connect with Cassie and that's enough. The other characters get flickers of spotlight later as you stumble through the plot with our leading lady.

It wasn't amazing, but it was good and I will be getting the next book thanks to a delicious cliffhanger. Very original, very eerie, not long or detailed enough to be my favorite, but it won me over in the end!
