Deadline by Randy Alcorn
Series: Ollie Chandler #1
Rating: ★★★
Though well intentioned, the two dimensional characters and the obvious extreme personas used to tell the story were a turn off. It's been a while since in read this novel, but I do remember 1. The characters were unrealistic 2. The characters were also EXTREME in their rolls. Mostly the bad were ALL bad and manipulative and almost downright evil at times, and the good were ALL good and innocent and purely motivated.
Though this might have served the authors purpose for this story, it was a bit unreasonable to have EVERYONE be this way. And yes it has been a while since I've read it, so forgive me if I'm not more specific in my details and examples.
All this aside, I found the overall storyline compelling despite all this, and for action lovers out there there were definite moments with "Jason Bourne"-esque action and suspense.
I genuinely became enveloped in the story towards the end, and was eager to see the conclusion. I'd encourage people to move past the extremes characters, who fully embody stereotypes for the sake of the story, and enjoy the novel.
